Leadership Camp 2024
Building Skills, Confidence, and Leadership
Our inaugural Leadership Camp was held at the Scouts Grounds in Kibera, Nairobi, bringing young people together for an engaging program focused on practical skills, personal development, health, and well-being.
Although our first camp was shorter in duration, it was packed with activities designed to encourage participants to learn new skills, build confidence, work together, and prepare for their futures.
Camp Activities
Participants took part in a wide range of educational and practical activities, including
Financial education and money management
Tent building and teamwork activities
A friendly football match
Meditation and mental health training with The Art of Living
Chapati making
First aid training
Sexual health education
Career and business talks
Participants also had the opportunity to hear from local professionals and businesspeople, including a carpenter, photographer, and farmer, who shared their experiences and practical knowledge.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
The Leadership Camp was designed to provide young people with learning experiences beyond traditional education.
Through practical activities, health education, career discussions, and teamwork, participants were encouraged to develop greater confidence, independence, and awareness of the opportunities available to them.
