Prison Projects
Creating Opportunities Through Community Partnerships
Jifunze International believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to build a better future. Through our work with correctional facilities, we have partnered with prison communities to improve living conditions, develop practical skills, and create opportunities for rehabilitation and positive change.
Our journey began through our community garden project at GK Primary School, located within the GK Prison Grounds. During the establishment of the garden, inmates generously assisted with constructing fencing, installing plumbing, and preparing the land for cultivation.
Honouring Kariuki's Legacy
During this project, we worked closely with Kariuki, whose dedication and hard work left a lasting impression on our team.
After his release from prison, Jifunze International employed Kariuki and supported his goal of starting his own business. We had secured a microloan to help him become financially independent. Sadly, Kariuki became seriously ill and passed away before he could realise those plans.
In honour of his memory, we continued our commitment to improving the lives of those still living within the prison community.
